Hi Bobcats!

Summer is here! Remember, learning continues even during summer. Make sure you read every day, feel free to keep using learning platforms you use during the school year (ie. RazKids, IXL) and equally important, remember to get outside and play. Nature is a great teacher and physical activity is key. Be safe and have fun!

Families, this has been a crazy four months but one thing that never waivered was our staff's commitment to our students and your support for our staff. I am very proud of how our Bobcat community responded to this pandemic. One thing I am sure of is that whatever this pandemic throws at us next year, our community will face it together.  We are Bobcat Strong!   Have a wonderful summer!

In partnership,

Johnna (aka Ms. Stewart)

Welcome to Brier Elementary, home of the Bobcats!

We start every day with reciting our pledge: “At Brier, we are Responsible, Kind, Respectful and Safe. I am ready to learn and will encourage others to be successful because learning comes first!” In order for students to become responsible, contributing citizens in our rapidly changing and interdependent world, they need to be equipped with the necessary academic and interpersonal skills. We believe strongly in providing a safe, supportive learning environment that allows every student to be challenged and to learn at their fullest.

At Brier, we are always striving to provide every student with a rigorous academic program, one that focuses on building strong foundational skills as well as strong critical thinking skills. Our students need to be prepared to live and work in our continually changing world where knowing how to be a learner and how to communicate their ideas to others is essential. In addition to our academic program, our school community offers a variety of after school activities to further extend learning.

We also believe that our students need to have the interpersonal skills to succeed in our global society. We intentionally teach our students to be responsible, kind, respectful and safe citizens of our school, our community and our world, through our character education work. We model and explicitly teach these skills, we recognize students for demonstrating these skills and we offer the opportunity to participate in activities that benefit the larger community.

We encourage family and community participation at BRE. Together we can do more for our students! We look forward to working in partnership with our families so that we can provide a rich learning experience every day.

Welcome to Brier!
